Child safety

PermaSpark connects adults with adults. It is not for children. The app is rated 18+ on Google Play, the target audience is adults only, and we use Play’s minor-restriction tools. These are our published child-safety standards.

1. No children

• You must be 18 or older to create an account. The start screen asks for an explicit 18+ attestation; it is not pre-checked.
• We remove accounts we reasonably believe belong to a minor, without notice where necessary for safety.
• We do not design, market, or recommend the app to children, and we do not permit it in child-directed contexts.

2. Zero tolerance for child sexual abuse material (CSAM)

• CSAM and any sexualisation of minors are prohibited absolutely.
• We remove the content, preserve relevant records where legally permitted, and report to the appropriate authority (for example NCMEC in the US or the relevant national hotline) as required by law.
• We cooperate with law enforcement and child-protection organisations to the extent the law requires.
• Accounts involved are terminated and may be reported to the platform and authorities.

3. Reporting

• In the app: use Report on any wave, comment, rocket, message, or profile. Reports enter a human review queue.
• By email: safety@permaspark.app — monitored for child-safety reports. Include the username, what happened, and any screenshots you can safely provide.
• Emergencies: contact your local emergency services first. We are not an emergency service.

4. Moderation and response

• Child-safety reports are prioritised over other reports.
• We aim to acknowledge a child-safety report within 24 hours and act on clear CSAM immediately.
• Reports can be made by users and by non-users; you do not need an account to email us.
• We keep a written record of actions taken, subject to privacy and legal constraints.

5. Design safeguards for an anonymous app

• 18+ gate at account start; no browsing of member content by children is intended.
• Report and block on every surface; blocking applies in both directions across feed, rockets, matches and chat.
• No image uploads in the current version, reducing CSAM risk; text is moderated on report.
• Chat is ephemeral and deleted at delivery; reports about a message include the reporter’s note as evidence.
• No public follower counts, no discovery of minors’ profiles, no location sharing.
